French Roses

This is a really fun project! Purchase all new fabric, use up scraps or combine the two, either way, the results will be adorable! This design has a rag-edge applique technique for each rose. After washing and drying, the flowers will have a super soft edge around the petals. Purchase of the "French Roses" pattern by Heather French is required.  The pattern includes a picture, full-size applique pattern and complete instructions. Finished size is approximately 57"x 57".

Children ages 10 and up are welcome, however, an accompanying adult must also be registered for the class with children under the age of 16.

The classroom will be equipped with:

  • Sewing machines (no need to lug your machine to class!)
  • Ironing boards and irons
  • Cutting mats
  • 24" X 6" rulers
  • 9-1/2" X 9-1/2" rulers
  • Plastic templates for flowers

Students will need to supply the following items.  It is highly recommended that students purchase their supplies from High Sewciety Boutique so that we can help you choose the proper fabrics that coordinate beautifully so that you have a finished product that you love. We have also hand selected quilting tools that we feel have beneficial features that will minimize frustration and ensure a positive experience. Students can purchase all of their supplies on the class day if they choose (please arrive an 30-45 min early to allow time for choices). Class students will receive a 20% discount on all products purchased before class or the day of the class.

**Students need to cut (25) 9-1/2" squares from background fabric before class**  Do not cut any other fabrics before class.

Instructor Bio: Cathy just loves everything quilting but loves even more teaching others to quilt. Her quilting journey began when a friend asked her to take a beginning quilting class. She never turned backed and found ways to quilt while working full-time outside the home. She took as many classes as she could in her free time. Cathy has been quilting for over 20 years and has learned a few shortcuts over the years to simplify some processes. She has done applique, paper piecing and art quilts, but her love is in traditional and modern quilts. Come learn to quilt with her. Her excitement is contagious!
